Questionnaire for Members

A questionnaire was given out at the monthly meeting, to find out a little more about what members know, want to know or want to teach others, about minecraft. It also asks about gamemode preference and invites you to make suggestions about the server.

Those members who wish to teach something to other members will have a time allocated to them (Members Workshop's) during the meetings, during which they can display their minecraft game on a TV, to help others to see what is being demonstrated (if desired).

The questionnaire can be found here and it can be printed and given to us at the next meeting, posted to us, or given to us in any other way you find convenient. You are also welcome to type and email your responses to us too, at feedback@eheminecraft.co.uk

1st Monthly Meeting Roundup

Today we had the first Essex Home Ed Minecraft Server meeting and I am happy to report that a good time was had by all :-)

Regarding the results of the Essex Home Ed Minecraft Server Build a Meeting Room Competition, there was a slight change to how the two prizes were allocated, as explained below.

Although we were going to have two separate groups, of over and under 11's, this would have meant that only one person would have been in the under 11's category and would have therefore automatically won. That person, Anaiah26, decided she would rather everyone were in one group, so prizes would be given to the first and second place winners.

The winners of the competitions, using the new criteria, were:

1st Place: Owenmwelsh (Prize: Minecraft Tshirt and 1st place fabric medal, lovingly assembled by our good selves)
2nd Place: Anaiah26 (Prize: Minecraft Tshirt and fabric medal, lovingly assembled by our good selves)
3rd Place: Mortaxe3 (Prize: Fabric medal, lovingly assembled by our good selves)

Congratulations to them and all of the other entries for their fantastic creations. A small consolation prize will be emailed to all of those that had entries to the competition. Pictures of the entries will be added to this website's gallery at a later date.

If you would like any of your constructions to be used as public buildings, such as for a meeting room, socialising room or other public service, just let us know please.

You can let is know by emailing us or leaving a book in the Post a office Hopper, giving details of the building and your username. A plaque will be put on the outside of donated buildings, in appreciation for the generous gift.

The first meeting went very well, it was fantastic to see everyone together having fun. However, as a result of all the fun, we did not get to complete as much as we had hoped. We did not have a chance to vote on the laws requested by members, for the server, for example. To remedy this, a poll will be put up on the server, to be closed after 1 week.

Monthly Meetings: Friday May 23rd Outline

One Book or Two?: A New Library on The Essex Home Ed Minecraft Server

There's a new Library in Town, thanks to the hard work of Mortaxe3 and Anaiah26!

The Library (coordinates -384 69 130), was the brainchild of Mortaxe3 it enables members to have a place to borrow or publish new books.

To borrow books, just take one out of the chests for borrowing books, as shown below:

To return books to the library, place your book it into the chest near the front door, as shown below.

To add your own books to the library collection, which you can write with a book and quill and leave for others to read, place your book into the returns chest/hopper, or give it to a librarian. The librarians will then put your book away in the appropriate chest.

We invite all members of Essex Home Ed Minecraft Server, to write and add books to the library. They could be factual books about a topic that intrests you, or fictional books, with stories you make up about anything at all!

We hope to see the library collection growing and flourishing. If you would like your book to be published on our website too, just put a book in requesting it into the library returns chest or speak with DJJANDANAIAH in game.

Happy Reading and Writing guys :-)

Gamemode Options Poll For Essex Home Ed Minecraft Server

Some members of EHE Minecraft Server have been inquiring as to whether it would be possible to have survival mode on the server, or an option to play in survival mode. Currently, players are automatically set to creative mode, as we were focusing on the construction element of minecraft.

Consequently, we would like to conduct a poll to find out what our members would rather the server offered: Creative, Survival,or some combination of the two, either in separate zones, or worlds.

If you could select an answer from the following poll, the results will be discussed at the May 23rd Meeting.

What Gamemode would you like the Essex Home Ed Minecraft Server to be in?

If you would like to say more about this topic, you can also comment on the website or email your comments to feedback@eheminecrat.co.uk. Your input would be very much appreciated.

The Law Comes to Town!

Howdy Guys,

Just to let you know, there's a new law firm in town! Owenmwelsh and Mortaxe3 have opened a new law firm, to conduct investigations, in the dark blue building in the spawn area (coordinates -200 83 168).

As well as reporting any issues to myself (DJJANDANAIAH), by speaking to me online or putting a book in my chest or the hopper in the post office, you can now ask the new law firm to conduct investigations.

Extension for build a Meeting Room Competition

As the May monthly meetings are now to going to be amalgamated into one meeting on Friday 23rd May, the deadline for entries for the competition will also be extended, until Thursday 22nd May at 23.59.

Entries will then be judged at the meetings on 23rd May. Apologies for those that have already completed their builds but as the judging is not due to take place until the meetings, it made the original deadline seem a little too early.

Joint Monthly Meeting for May

The meetings for the under and over 11's will be amalgamated in May, to have a joint meeting on Friday 23rd May, between 12-2.30pm.

Requests For EHE Laws and Ways to Deal With Griefing

Members have asked for the server to have an agreed set of ways to deal with issues such as griefing on the server. This would include issues such as others deliberately causing damage and how it should be dealt with.

Consequently, members are asked to submi suggestions of the rules they would like to see in place, to reduce or deal with any potential issues.

Suggestions given so far are provided below. All members are asked to submit suggestions, should they wish to do so. Any further suggestions will be added to this website.

The set of procedures to be adopted will be voted on at the May Monthly Meetings.  The adopted rules will then be put on this website.

Suggestions for new procedures can be written in game (with a quill and book) and placed in the Hopper outside the Postal Office, as pictured below.

If you have any queries, feel free to ask questions via a book, which you can place in the same hopper, or ask DJJANDANAIAH whilst on the Server.

All Aboard! Trains come to Essex Home Ed Minecraft Server

Just to let you know that thanks to the efforts of Mortaxe3 and Anaiah26, there is now an evolving train system in place on the Server!

Mortaxe3's Intercity Train Lines (Inner city Hub): Allows you to buy slots, which you can use to build lines directly to the buildings of your choice, for a fee of 10 diamonds. There are already some lines in place (which are rather fun to ride on). This is situated opposite the Postal Office/Locker Room in the Starter Zone, near the large Public Notice Board. The idea for this came from Mortax and it was constructed by Mortaxe3 and Anaiah26

Anaiah's Outercity Express: Is a Direct Line from the Starter Zone to the border of the unprotected Zone. It also has a link up to take you to the Postal Office and the aforementioned Inner City Hub. The Outercity Express is situated besides the large blue Block Shop (also by Anaiah26), which can be easily identified by the large red apple on top. If you choose to take this ride, be ready for a speedy one!

Many thanks to Mortaxe3 and Anaiah26 for their creativity and hard work to put these much valued transportation systems in place!

Whitelisting Issue

It has come to my attention that members could not get onto the server this morning, as the server was telling them that they were not whitelisted.

Apologies about that, it was an oversight on my part, as the whitelist is removed during Server Maintainance at night and I had forgotten to correct that before putting the server on this morning.

Very sorry about that, many thanks to those that let me know about the issue, so I could rectify it. If anything like this happens again, please do let me know.

Essex Home Ed Minecraft Server Back Online

Despite an apparently Essex-wide internet issue with my network provider, the Essex Home Ed Minecraft Server is now back online.

Apologies that it took so long!

Tecnical Issues on EHE Minecraft Server

Apologies to those of you that may have tried to join us on the server today. There are some technical issues which have to be dealt with before we can get it back online this morning.

We are working hard to fix the issue and hope to be back with you later today.

Sorry about this, technology hey!

Choo Choo on the Anaiah Express

Our thanks to Anaiah26 for the speedy but considerable work she put into constructing the new (mainly) underground train, from the starting zone to the border of the protected zone.

This should make it easier for those new to the EHE Minecraft Server to find where they can build. As should the burger of glow stone blocks that show the border of where those without OP rank are unable to build.

Finally, the protected zone has also been increased, to offer some protection to all of the fantastic builds that have sprung up on the glow stone border. This means that the ability to build will now be available to all at around 50 blocks beyond the existing glow stone border.

Three New OP's

We have be blessed with lots of lovely people joining us on the server, three of whom (Penguinhead, Stanley and Littlepanda115) have now received enough votes for them to be awarded OP rank 1.

Congratulations to you all (and those who have already been made OP's), your contributions and considerations have obviously been noticed!

PS: As an OP, you are now able to choose and name a chest in the locker room, to receive mail and items from other players on the server.

Postal Office/Locker Room for OP Members

There is now a locker room on the server, where mail and items can be left for fellow members. OP's are invited to choose a locker and put up a sign above it, to show who it belongs to.

The locker room can be found in the starting area, opposite the train station.

Suggestions, feedback and comments can also be left for Server Admins, in the suggestion chute in the locker room (using a quill and book).
