Pending Closure of EHEMS

Dear All,

EHEMS is due to close on 18.08.16. Copies of the world created on EHEMS are available to those who were members of the server and they can be accessed here: EHEMS World Save

The EHEMS World save is password protected and members can access the password by logging onto the server and visiting the main notice board in Zone 1, which will have the password on it (coordinates X-233, Y71, Z141). If you are in Zone 2, there is a Teleporter to Zone 1 (just stand on it) at the Zone 2 Post Office (coordinates X15, Y66, Z86).

If you have any problems downloading or accessing the saves, you can let us know at essexheminecraft@gmail.com and we will try to help.

Our thanks go out to all of those that visited EHEMS, spent time with us, created and shared ideas and skills. The camaraderie and abilities exhibited by members was inspiring and we wish you all the very best for the future.

Update to 10.2

Hi All,

Apologies for the delay updating to version 10 but it is now up and running.

Please note, you may have to update your server address details to ehems.servegame.com to log in. Unless you were using the essexhomeed.serveminecraft.net, which is still working.

Apologies for any inconvenience and I hope you enjoy the update. Especially as you can now play on the Essex home Ed Minecraft Server from iPads and other portable devices (ie Minecraft Pocket Edition), by adding ehems.servegame.com as a friend.

MolCraft: Where Minecraft meets Chemistry

The University of Hull have created Molcraft: a resource pack, schematics and world, that can help explorers to learn about chemistry.

You will need the usual paid minecraft account to play on their server (their server address is molcraft.nitrous.it). Remember to ask for permission from parents before adding new servers though please.

You can download the necessary files using the links above, though I would encourage you to visit the MolCraft website for more information, instructions and news on the project.

Possible disruption to the Server on Weds 4th November

We will be having engineers out on Wednesday, to improve server issues. Apologies in advance, for any disruption to the server, during this time.

We're Back Online :-)

I'm pleased to say that the Essex Home Ed Minecraft server is now back online.

We've moved back to our original home, for now at least but will be looking to make further improvements in the near future.

Server update

Apologies to all but the problems with the server are still being looked into.

To enable the server to be accessible, we will be moving the server over the next couple of days (as I am currently away) and we apologise for any inconvenience caused whilst we try to resolve these issues.

Server Issues

It has come to our attention that server is not available online at the moment. Our apologies for this, we are working to repair the problem and hope to be back with you soon

Server Move

Apologies to anyone that has had trouble logging onto the server recently. Courtesy of Mortaxe3 and his fab dad, Clinton, the server has now moved to a better home. Understandably, the project took some doing but thankfully, there's not much Mortax can't achieve when he puts his mind to it :-)

The server should now be up and running again perfectly but if you have any issues, please let us know, either ingame or you can email us at feedback@eheminecraft.co.uk.

Members won't need to make any changes, everything should still work as it did.

Teleporting Between Zones

Teleporters,  going between Zone 1 and 2, have been placed outside the post offices in zone 1 and 2, for your convenience. To activate, simply stand on the signposted pressure plate. 

The locations of the Teleporters, can be found at -232, 73, 141 for Zone 1; and 12, 67, 85 for Zone 2.

Update: EHEMS Offline for Maintainance - Now back online

Apologies for any inconvenience caused but the server is currently offline for maintainance. We will update you here when it is back online.

Also, apologies but the monthly meeting will not be running today, due to family illness. Apologies for the short notice.

UPDATE: EHEMS is now back online and should be more stable than before. If you have any problems, please email us at feedback@eheminecraft.co.uk.

Chat Service Update

Following our trial for using a chat service alongside EHEMS, due to lack of interest and alternative, easier, options we shall not be using a chat service for the time being.

Many members have started to use Skype, to talk whilst online, which seems to be working well. If you would like to speak with anyone online, we would remind you to ask your parents for permission first.

More Server Issues - Sorted!

Apologies to all for the inconvenience but there seems to be some issues with the VPS server, EHEMS resides on. We are trying to get the server back and will have it back by the morning, at the latest.

Server Updated to 1.8.3

Well, we've finally gone and done it! The Essex Home Ed Minecraft Server (EHEMS) has been updated from 1.8 to 1.8.3!

What does this mean for you? Hopefully, less bugs and issues (if you were having any) and the ability to use the latest version of Minecraft. For those wanting to know more, info about the changes in this version (and others), can be found here.

Happily, 1.8.3 is backwards compatible, which means, you do not have to update your minecraft version, if you do not wish to. However, if you do want to use the latest version of minecraft, this is now possible on the Essex Home Ed Minecraft Server too.

Our thanks to Mortaxe3, for finally getting us to take the plunge. May his skills and innovation continue to flourish and benefit others, as they already do :-)

Chat Server (Mumble) Trial

For the next two weeks, the Essex Home Ed Minecraft Server (EHEMS) will be running a trial of the gaming chat service Mumble.

To join the EHEMS chat Channel, only after getting your parents permission please, you need to download mumble (from here) and enter the following details:

 

              Server Name: Mumble Server

              Address: EHEMS.mumble.com

              Port: 3701

The password, will be on the public notice board on the server. This can be found at coordinates X:-232, Y:73 Z:141 (your coordinates can be seen by pressing the f3 button, or fn and f3 together, depending on your computer).

Please note, the same rules for EHEMS are also in place for the EHEMS Chat Channel. The rules, along with information about how they were formed, can be found here. However, regarding chat, they are summed up in the following courtesies: 

1. No swearing or name calling.
2. Be as nice to others, as you would like them to be to you.

Anyone that is found to be persistently rude to other users, will be removed from the chat channel and the service will be reviewed.

Having said that, you are all a lovely bunch, so there shouldn't be any problems. We hope you have many lovely times chatting and creating with friends. Please let us know what you think of the chat channel and whether you would like to keep, loose or change it.

At the end of the two week trial, the mumble chat service, and others, will be reviewed (along with feedback received) and a decision will be made about the future of chat on EHEMS.

EHEMS Update: A Brave New World (Survival)

Well, changes are afoot on Essex Home Ed Minecraft Server! Namely with a new survival world on the server, in addition to our regular, creative world.

To join the survival server, you just need to enter the following details into your multiplayer server details:

              Server Name: EHEMS Survival

              Server Address: ehems.serveminecraft.net:30003

There is also a new chat service being trialled by EHEMS. To join the chat channel, after first getting your parent's permission please, you need to download mumble (from here) and enter the following details:

EHEMS Back Online With Changes to OP Ranks

Our thanks to Mortax3, for finding the best save available, to restore the server.

The server has now been rolled back to a couple of days ago, before the damage occurred. Our sincere apologies to anyone who has lost any work they have done in that time.

In light of recent (and past) events, the following changes have been implemented on the server:
- The protected zone has been expanded, to increase the protection for Zone 2. If you have any problems accessing your things in Zone 2, please just let us know, so you can be given the appropriate permission or have your creation relocated to the (soon to be created) Zone 3.
- Regular members have had their OP Ranks upgraded, to enable access to Zone 2 and teleporting. To teleport to a location, type /tp x y z in the chat bar (substitute the numerical coordinates for x, y and z).

Members of EHEMS are respectfully reminded, that it is against the rules of the server to destroy anything made by another member.

EHEMS Offline for Repairs

Following another incident of seemingly meaningless sabotage on the server, the server is currently offline whilst Mortax and his wonderful family work their magic to get a rolled back version of the server back online.

Thanks to their help, this and future damage will be able to be "deleted", as the server is reset to the day before the damage happened.

We apologise to anyone and everyone negatively affected by this and for the delay getting the server back online. I will post here once the server has been fixed and is good to go again.

Could we remind everyone that it is one of the main considerations, that we require from members, that they do not destroy anything made by others. It is just not fair.

Those wishing to destroy buildings in minecraft are invited to find a space, away from the main buildings and construct something to their liking. That way, no one will mind when you destroy it and peace is restored. You never know, you may end up finding that the creative side is also more rewarding?

Our thanks to Mortax and Pops again, for making a horrible situation, much less so.


UPDATE:
The old (damaged) server is currently back online, until an intact version can be uploaded. Consequently, you may wish to hold back on any epic building for now, as the server will be updated later.

It's Mortax!

It's Christmas time, the best time of year for lots of us.

Well, I built a massive Christmas Tree on top of the train station!
It has baubles that have coloured wool inside them in the day, and at night this becomes glowstone and they light up!

The train station is still accessabile via the double oddrs below the tree, pics are below!

Also Mojang and Teltale Games have teamed up to make a story version of Minecraft, where you lead your own adventure!

It's A Christmas Miracle!

Hi Everyone,

It's Mortax again!

Well, I logged onto the server today and found the post office full of presents!
Well, kind of. All the chests have been wrapped and look like presents!

This is very special as it only happens for 3 days a year, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Boxing Day, so log on now to see it. Another special thing at Christmas is the splash, the funny text on screen when you start Minecraft, well normally it says something random like 'Puppies For Everyone!', but now it says 'Merry X-mas!'.

Server Fixed!

Hi Everyone, Mortax posting.!

Just wanted to say that we have successfully uploaded a copy of the server from 2 days ago.

For anyone who does not know, some blew up lots of stuff on the server (Main suspect, EnderBoyElliot), including the:

• Post Office
• Command Block Centre
• Big Ben
• Anaiah's Diamond Hotel
• The Head Houses
• My Giant Cartoon Head

Sorry if you lost something you built, but this only goes back 2 days so don't worry, all you stuff wont be gone!

EHEMS Goes to Insomnia 53!

Well, insomnia 53, the UK's biggest gaming convention has now closed it's doors on an absolutely epic weekend.

The gaming festival enabled fans of youtubers, to get a chance to meet many well known and much loved youtubers. The line up, of who was there, can be seen in the images below. Not only were there meet and greet sessions but in between, the lovely youtubers, being epic and all, would mill around chatting, signing and letting peeps take lots of pics. Their patience and warmth was legendary!

We were lucky enough to go along and have uploaded some pictures. A massive thank you to everyone we met (especially LD ShadowLady, The Diamond Minecart, Yammy, Smallishbeans, and Simon & the Sidemen), for being quite the loveliest bunch of youtubers we have ever had the pleasure of meeting :-)

PS Anaiah26 had the courage to ask LDShadowLady and The Diamond Minecart, if they would visit our server and they have said that if we get our details to them, they will! So now for us to do our bit (apologies for not having the foresight to preempt, or even think of Anaiah26's idea and go prepared).

Anaiah26, despite the look on her face, had a fantastic time! She her usual chatty self with them but I think the 

awe of the situation got to her a bit, when she got to have pictures taken with them!

EHEMS Moves Home and Lag Becomes A Thing Of The Past!

Essex Home Ed minecraft server has now relocated to a VPS (Virtual Private Server), to help improve the connection and stability for members.

Humoungous thanks go out to Mortax3 and his extremely generous Dad, for their generosity and help with moving the server over. Their help was invaluable and we will now be using their server, to host ours.

Due to the wonders of modern technology, you guys will not have to make any changes to your logging in details, so you can log on and mine away whenever you get the time.

Should the redirecting service fail at any point, and the server be unreachable, you can log directly into the server using the server address: 208.131.156.190:25565.
